Humza Ansari
Humza Ansari is the attorney behind Ansari Business Litigation, a Chicago law firm that collects commercial debts and enforces judgments for lenders, debt buyers, and businesses in Illinois.
Before law school, Humza worked in sales, where he learned to listen closely, find the issue underneath the stated one, and close under pressure. That is still how he approaches a collection file: identify the debtor’s actual position, pick the tool that changes it, and move.
He served as a staff attorney at the Illinois Appellate Court, First District, reviewing briefs and records and preparing cases for decision. The experience shaped how he builds a trial record and why he treats post-judgment motions and preservation as part of the case rather than an afterthought.
In practice he has handled seven-figure breach of contract disputes from pre-suit through trial or settlement, and built the firm’s collections practice around a template system, demand letters, complaints, arbitration demands, and post-judgment filings matched to each client’s contracts, that keeps the work consistent and brings the client’s cost of collections counsel down over time. His working philosophy, for clients and for the firm: methodical is smooth, and smooth is fast.
Humza is licensed to practice law in Illinois and admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the Chicago Bar Association. In law school he competed for two years on the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot team, which earned awards for its claimant’s and respondent’s briefs; he received an individual oralist award at a regional pre-moot. He earned his law degree from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law in 2020.
He speaks Urdu.
